I have more than 15 years of experience as an employment lawyer, acting for employers, trade unions and employees in Australia and the UK. I was a salaried partner in a UK national firm and was subsequently a founder partner of my own legal practice which focussed on employment and discrimination law. Since returning to WA I've worked as an industrial officer and as a Senior Associate lawyer. My work has included unfair dismissals, redundancies, transfers of business, insolvencies, restructures, discrimination claims and disputes about terms and conditions. Of course, legal proceedings are best avoided if possible, given the disruption and expense that they cause. Expert advice and support at an early stage can be used to help nip problems in the bud and help everyone focus on the work that they are there to do. This is why my focus in more recent years has largely been on workplace advisory services.
